Our Doctor

 

Audrey Wingo, is a Santa Cruz local herself! She was born and raised in Felton, CA. where she attended San Lorenzo Valley from elementary through high school.

She completed her undergraduate work at UC Davis with a double major in Spanish and Chemistry. While there, she played inter-collegiate tennis for the university on a scholarship and was captain of the team in her senior year.

Dr. Wingo attended dental school at New York University College of Dentistry in Manhattan. While she loved her life in New York and the experience it provided, she was very happy to return to Santa Cruz to be closer to her family and friends.

She is married to Jeroen Van der Steen, a Boulder Creek native himself (Yes, they did attend high school together but were not high school sweethearts). He is a West Point graduate who separated from the Army after a 10 year career. He returned home to California in 2016, and now enjoys working for his father's engineering business.

Dr. Wingo has a knack for making people - young and old - feel comfortable. There is always a lot of chatter in the office, and most days you will hear laughter coming out of her room. From the moment you walk in the door, we want you to enjoy your time in the office!

There are many things that have shaped her dental career and philosophy. While finishing dental school, she traveled to the Dominican Republic for dental outreach program providing dental care to those in need. Audrey also worked in a drug rehabilitation center, restoring the mouths and helping those trying to start over. “Those experiences made you realize how fortunate we are to have the access and availability of care.”

Free Time

In her time away from the office, she is taking care of her three small children... boy, they keep her busy! She also likes to work in her garden and is an amateur bee keeper
